With people at the heart of what we do, our employee, industry and global community make up who we are.
New Zealand’s Hotel Conference
Since 2015, ahs hospitality has sponsored the New Zealand Hotel Conference, and the General Manager award which we present at the conference every year.
This premier industry event acknowledges all the incredible workers and hotels across New Zealand. ahs hospitality looks forward to continuing this awards sponsorship and supporting performance recognition within the hospitality industry.
Nepal’s Skills Campus
In 2019 ahs hospitality partnered with a hospitality college in Nepal called Skills Campus. Through this partnership, Nepalese hospitality students can take on a 6-month paid internship. This internship provides them with valuable experience working in the hospitality industry in a foreign-speaking country. With opportunities to work at large international 4-5 star hotels, they gain hands-on experience. This internship is also part of their course, providing them with a paid educational and training opportunity – as well as the added bonus of working abroad.
This partnership provides great benefits both for students and ahs hospitality.
Pacifical International Hotel Management School
Our New Zealand team entered into our partnership with the Pacific International Hotel Management School (PIHMS) in 2017. This partnership sees PIHMS graduates commencing a 6-month paid internships with ahs hospitality. The graduates learn about all facets of the housekeeping department in hotels. From attending hotel briefings to servicing rooms, rostering and training staff, the graduates are across all aspects of our scope.
We at ahs hospitality in New Zealand collaborate with the Soap Aid initiative and deliver across five of our properties. Being careful to maintain focus on sanitisation and hygiene, we continue to support and contribute to this worthwhile recycling program. We join an industry that is now prioritising ethical waste management, something so essential to our community.
As a business unit within the Chandler Macleod Group, ahs hospitality are on track to achieve a goal established to reduce our environmental impact. That goal is to be 100% digital by 2021. We are passionate about reducing unnecessary waste, investing in digital, and searching for eco-friendly alternatives to the way we do business.
Harden the Cup Up Day is an environmental initiative established by an ahs hospitality team member across the Chandler Macleod Group. Held on the 25th of November every year, this day encourages our team members, clients, and the general public to permanently ditch single-use cups for a hard reusable alternative.
Join us for Harden the Cup Up Day this year and encourage others to choose conservation with reusable coffee cups.
